Georgian Bluffs surrounds Owen Sound and includes communities such as Balmy Beach, Big Bay, Kemble, Leith, Shallow Lake, and Springmount. Almost every home here is on its own septic system, from long-established farmhouses to newer acreage builds and Georgian Bay shoreline lots.
That mix means very different systems side by side. Inland properties often have room for a conventional bed. Shoreline lots near the bay face tight setbacks and shallow rock, which can call for a raised bed or advanced-treatment system.
